Workshop on “Reservations in Government Jobs” on 19th and 20th November, 2013

As per its Annual Training Calendar for 2013-14 approved by DG DE, NIDEM organized a two days workshop on “Reservations in Government Jobs” on 19th and 20th November, 2013 for officers of the Department working as CEOs/DEOs. The aim of the workshop was to develop a broad understanding of the constitutional provisions relating to reservation in services for SC/ST/OBC and Physically Handicapped persons, procedures for implementing the reservation orders and instructions of Government of India, maintenance of reservation rosters, procedures involved for de-reservation of reserved vacancies, filling of carry forward/backlog reserved vacancies, and share and exchange practical experiences and ideas in dealing with day-to-day problems and sharpen skills for proper implementation of the Government orders and instructions on the subject. The main emphasis was given on the practical aspects. At the end of the programme, the participants were able to prepare the reservation rosters themselves.

The workshop was attended by 9 officers and was conducted with help of DoPT registered experts on the subject and ex-ISTM faculty.
