Special Land Audit Report on the assessment and utilisation of lands under occupation of Army in eight NE States presented to Defence Secretary by the DG DE and Director, DE, EC on 16-07-2025

Special Land Audit Report on the assessment and utilisation of around 50000 acres of lands under occupation of Army in eight North Eastern States (including Sikkim) was formally presented to Defence Secretary by the DG DE and Shri Nagi Reddy, Director DE, EC on 16th July’25. The report was prepared in six months’ time by the Special Land Audit Committee, chaired by K.V. Nagi Reddy, Director, DE, EC with Pramod Kumar Singh, DEO Kolkata and Arnab Ghosh, ADEO Kolkata as members and in association with the LAOs, Vilas Pawar, DEO Guwahati, Barchaswa, DEO Jorhat, Nagesh Kumar Pandey, DEO Siliguri, Dukini Kyndiah, DEO Tezpur and Koli Santosh Akash, DEO Itanagar. The Committee was ably assisted by Amit Johri, ADEO of Dte DE, EC and Sumanta Das, SDO-I of Dte DE, EC.

The Committee under the guidance of DGDE and the then PDDE, EC devised six sets of questionnaires and obtained data from 36 Military stations through LAOs/DEOs of EC as well as inputs from the field visits and conferences undertaken by LAOs with LMAs and came up with a Comprehensive Report.
