Regional Training Centre Dehradun was established as per the directions of DGDE and PDDE. Regional Training Center is constituted under Section 49 of the Cantonments Act, 2006 as a joint effort among Cantonment Boards in the Central Command. The Inauguration of RTC, Dehradun was held on 26th Sep 2011 by Shri Ashok Kumar Harnal, Director General, DE In the presence of Shri Ravi Kant Chopra, PDDE, Central Command. Currently RTC Dehradun is operating in a temporary infrastructure provided in the Saheed Mekh Bahadur Cantt Kanya Inter College, Dehradun Cantt.
Regional Training Centre mainly Provides Training to the Cantonment Boards/DEO’s staff of Central Command. For some courses as per the directions from higher authorities RTC Dehradun also trains the staff of other commands as well i.e. Eastern, Western, Northern etc.
The staff includes Junior Engineers, Accountants, Programmers, Storekeepers, Sanitary Supdt. Sanitary Inspectors, Revenue/Tax Supdt. , UDCs, LDCs etc in various topic such as Education, Finance and Accounts, Environmental issues, solid-waste management, Raksha Bhoomi Code & it’s Database Structure, survey and engineering, geographical information systems management, lands records management etc. The Training Courses conducted at RTC Dehradun are mainly Refresher courses of 4-5 days duration.
